NewFirstSearch Links OCLCs NewFirstSearch Service started up in Mid-August 1999. OCLC will run both the NewFirstSearch and the older FirstSearch concurrently until Dec 12th, 1999. So you and your patrons can choose which format to use. The FirstSearch to ILL link, an essential part of using ILL Direct will only work in the older FirstSearch until mid-fall 1999. When implemented in the NewFirstSearch, the ILL link will be highly customizable, giving you yet more control over the process and creating an easier to use interface for your patrons.
