Groups and Path
A simple way to start using ILL Direct is to create the Custom Holdings Groups as below, and then create a custom Holdings Path using these groups in exactly the order they are listed. So in effect all of the UW 4 year campuses are cleared first, then all of the UW 2 year campuses. Then the UW-Madison, and finally the
UW-Milwaukee.

UW Resource Sharing "No Fee" Pilot Project
From January through June 2000 fees incured by your library for borrowing materials from UW-Madison and from UW-Milwaukee will be paid by UW System. This includes both OCLC ILL Direct requests and standard ILL requests sent to GZY. This is for LOANS only and does NOT cover referrals made by WILS beyond the UW-Madison campus.
To create an OCLC ILL Direct Group and Path for the special project you only need one Group with all 26 UW campuses listed. The ILL Direct system will then automatically randomly choose an appropriate lender string. Here's what that Group could look like:

You can easily add more locations as they fit into your ILL priorities. For instance you could create a group of other Wisconsin libraries you routinely access, say private academic libraries and near by public libraries, and name it WIOTHER. Then insert that group into the Path between WI2 and WILS.
Other libraries have created another Group that includes all of the LVIS libraries they use and inserted that Group at the end of the Path.
So starting with this basic set of Groups and Path you can easily customize it to meet your exact needs. Here's the Groups, listed in Path order:
