Check the links below for the information you need. About AskWI AskWisconsin is a consortium of libraries formed to offer Virtual Reference services to their patrons. The consortium is testing the concepts, policies and procedures of delivering Virtual Reference services. After a period of organization and training libraries went to live VR service in January of 2003. The consortium is committed to a continuing trial period through June of 2005. The AskWisconsin consortium is currently using the OCLC QuestionPoint Virtual Reference system, now merged with 247Reference to deliver email and chat based reference to their patrons. Each of the participating libraries offer direct email based reference service and are participating in a national shared chat based reference service offering full 24 hour, 7 days a week (24/7) chat coverage by participating in the 247Ref/QuestionPoint Consortia. AskWisconsin participating libraries comprise all types and sizes. The consortium is open to any Wisconsin library to join. The board is compromised of a representative from the Technical Colleges, a representative from the Public libraries, two representatives from the Academic libraries and an additional three at-large representatives.
