Getting to Know the Internet

Addresses

One common way folks are first introduced to the Internet is when you are given a web address by a friend, or see it listed in a newspaper or magazine, or even given to you on a TV show. Most of these addresses will look something like this:

http://www.coolworks.com

So how do you use this information? Follow these easy steps:

1) Open up the web browser available to you.
2) Choose "Open Location" from the "File" menu or click on the "Open" button if there is one

3) Enter the full address exactly as it was given to you
4) Double check for typos
5) Point and Click on the Open Button

Here are several fun addresses for you to try now:

http://memory.loc.gov
http://www.kitchenlink.com
http://www.financenter.com
http://www.packers.com
http://www.pbs.org
http://www.edmunds.com
